Working at Heights or Elevated Works
Course Overview: This course provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to safely perform tasks at heights. Any work conducted at 1.8 meters (6 feet) or higher is considered elevated work and requires proper planning, assessment, and fall protection measures. The training emphasizes hazard recognition, use of protective equipment, and safe work practices to prevent falls and related injuries.

Construction workers
Maintenance and inspection personnel
Supervisors or engineers overseeing elevated tasks
Anyone working on or around elevated platforms or openings
Key Learning Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Identify when work is considered “working at heights” (1.8 meters and above).
Recognize common fall hazards in elevated areas.
Understand regulatory and company requirements for height safety.
Properly select, inspect, and use fall protection systems.
Apply safe work procedures on:
Steel erections
Roof tops
Catwalks
Stairs
Scaffolds
Ladders
Floor openings
Excavations
Course Content:
Introduction to Height Safety Regulations
Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification
Fall Prevention vs. Fall Protection
Types and Proper Use of PPE (Harnesses, Lifelines, Lanyards)
Safe Access and Egress Procedures
Emergency Rescue and Response Planning
Duration:
6 Hours (theory and practical session)
Assessment & Certification:
Participants will complete a knowledge test and a practical demonstration. Successful participants will receive a “Working at Heights / Elevated Work Safety” Certificate of Completion valid for 2 years.
